Our company is now in the process of adopting Scrum Methodology for Project Management. Scrum is an agile method in which its main goal is to improve productivity in the team. Here are some of the features of this method.
1. A living backlog of prioritized work to be done.
2. Completion of a largely fixed set of backlog items in a series of short iterations or sprints.
3. A brief daily meeting (called a scrum), at which progress is explained, upcoming work is described, and obstacles are raised.
4. A brief planning session in which the backlog items for the sprint will be defined.
5. A brief heartbeat retrospective, at which all team members reflect about the past sprint.
So basically, Scrum can be compared to a game wherein the company is the team owner and the employees are the team players and the game is the product that needs to be developed or enhanced. While reading the benefits, I find this methodology very interesting.
