Did you know that Google’s Gmail offers a basic but very useful filtering system? Filters can, for example, apply a label to all messages with certain word in the subject, or from a certain sender; they can also archive messages, mark them as read, and take other actions. Although this filter is not powerful as the rules features in desktop e-mail program, they have the advantage of being able to pre-sort your mail even when you’re checking your messages in a Web browser or on an iPhone or other mobile device that doesn’t have its own filtering capability.
This how you can do the filter, click the Create A Filter link near the top of the Gmail window. Enter search terms in one or more of the fields shown. To limit matches to messages with attachment, select the Has Attachment check box. Click on the next step, and then select one or more checkboxes representing the action to take when a message matches. After making your selection, click Create Filter.
